Mrs. Patterson has been teaching at GAA for over 6 years! She has taught in all divisions and loves making learning fun!
In her shared role as Grade 6 core teacher as well as Vice Principal, Mrs. Patterson is reponsible for teaching Language Arts and Math for the Grade 6 class this school year.
She brings passion, skills and qualifications to her exciting role in teaching and learning and is looking forward to an engaging and successful year!
Garry Rodayan officially joined the Glenn Arbour Academy academic staff for the 2017-2018 academic year as a French Specialist, and grade six homeroom teacher
He began his career with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Marketing with honours from McGill University in their business co-operative program. He worked as the Assistant Editor for the McGill Alumni Association, Electronic Communication division, overseeing a network of over 250,000 alumni based in more than 180 countries around the world.
Mr. Rodayan continued his career in marketing and communications at Desjardins Trust, creating, editing and consulting on promotional and electronic communications for the Immigrant Investor Program.
After working as a marketing consultant for a variety of firms, Mr. Rodayan earned his Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from McGill University. His research focused on various forms of publicity and communications and their effects on the perceptions of elementary school-aged students. Working as a Behaviour Technician, specializing in teaching students with autism, prompted him to continue his education to become a licensed teacher, obtaining a Bachelor of Education with honours degree from the University of Ottawa.
Mr. Rodayan is board certified to teach in Québéc and Ontario, in both English and French, and he holds a Brevet d'Enseignement du Ministère de l'Éducation et de l’Enseignement Supérieur du Québec and is a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers. He has taught in a multitude of schools in the Greater Montreal Area, on Mohawk Reservations, as well as in schools in the Middle East. His interests include innovative ways of teaching French as a Second Language to non-native speakers, implementing novel approaches to classroom management and incorporating technology in the classroom.
